Established in January 2026, the Identity Governance Subcommittee operates under the oversight of the Data Governance Program and serves as the primary governing body for identity-related policy and process decisions. The subcommittee's scope includes the creation, review, and enforcement of policies and standards related to the full lifecycle of digital identities and access across the institution.

Current Focus
Standardization of Identity Lifecycle Management
The Identity Governance Subcommittee is currently focused on the implementation of the Universal Identity Standard, formally designating Ellucian Banner ERP as the single authoritative System of Record (SoR) for all digital and physical identities at Lehigh University. The primary goal is to eliminate fragmented manual processes, mitigate security risks, and automate the user lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
